About

Priya is a software engineer navigating the intersection of code, community, and collaboration. Most of her work lives in Django and Python, building backend systems and the infrastructure around them, with AWS and CircleCI handling the operational choreography. She cares about code that is explicit about its assumptions, automations that are sensible rather than just clever, clear trust boundaries, and deployments that don’t require theatrics. On the community side, she is a Django Software Foundation Board Director, serving in the Secretary officer role and helping govern one of the most widely used web frameworks in the world. She has organized Djangonaut Space across three sessions, co-chaired DSF fundraising, served on the code of conduct working group, and served as a GitHub Campus Expert from 2022 to 2025. Community spaces have been foundational to her growth as an engineer and as a person. She tries to give back by contributing through open source programs, developer education, and other operational work that sustains these local and global communities in a diverse and inclusive way.
