Zain Lakhani is Chief AI Officer at Pendo, where he leads the development and deployment of production-ready agentic AI systems. His approach combines rapid iteration, customer validation, and disciplined experimentation to turn emerging AI capabilities into durable products. Before joining Pendo, Zain founded LightCI, an AI-focused engineering firm that grew to approximately 250 employees and $100 million in revenue within four years. LightCI worked with companies including Google, Apple, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Pendo to deliver AI solutions. Zain previously led fintech engineering at Super.com, one of Toronto's largest startups, where he built and scaled financial technology systems. Zain studied computer science at the University of Toronto and contributed to early research connected to foundational work at Google Brain. Outside of work, he is a licensed private pilot who enjoys flying around his home base of Toronto.
